Collaborative Robotics in Action: Driving Talent Development and Research That Redefines Welding Practices

EVPÚ a.s. is currently partnering with student Peter Bračík, who is addressing a strategic topic: “Streamlining the production of welded assemblies through the deployment of an advanced collaborative robot.”

Yesterday, we participated in critical hands-on testing directly on the equipment, generating data with high relevance for industrial applications. His work focuses on several core objectives:

  • Performance benchmarking: Measuring and comparing welding outcomes delivered by a human operator versus a collaborative robot.
  • Hardware optimization: Designing a specialized welding fixture for the Cobot to enhance repeatability and accelerate cycle times.
  • Quality validation: Conducting both non-destructive and destructive tests to verify weld integrity with precision.
  • Workplace improvement: Assessing reductions in health risks and operator strain by shifting ergonomically demanding tasks to robotic systems.

At EVPÚ a.s., we recognize that collaboration with the academic sector is a key driver of innovation and a pathway toward a safer, more resilient Industry 4.0 environment. We support Peter’s efforts and look forward to the continued evolution of his research.
